Singapore – Hi•Tec 2019

February 21, 2019

Hertzian, with the support of Cornwall Trade and Investment, has taken another significant step in exporting its services globally this month (May 2019).  Christopher Weavill, Co-founder and COO, attended the HI•TEC (Healthcare Infrastructure Technology and Engineering Conference) 2019 in Singapore, organised by Singapore’s Ministry of Health.

This, the seventh annual HI•TEC conference, was a showcase of the best and brightest healthcare technology firms from the UK, and Hertzian was there representing Cornwall’s impressive but all-too-frequently understated technical prowess and ability by exhibiting its services.

This isn’t the first time Hertzian has taken its services to Asia. Having attended Hong Kong Great Festival of Innovation last yearAsia is certainly an exciting and varied market for us to explore. Christopher met with Government officials and businesses alike based in Singapore and stated that it was great that a business based in Cornwall, often criticized for it’s location, can export at a global level.

The British High Commissioner in Singapore, Scott Whiteman, said of the event:

“It’s really encouraging to see innovative young companies like Hertzian coming to Singapore. UK strength in AI and data analytics has huge potential to add value in support of Singapore Government’s Smart Nation programme.”

Christopher had this to say:

“It’s to our great benefit that Hertzian is recognized as one of the UK’s top trailblazing AI companies. This helps tremendously when selling our service and product abroad. Sometimes, large national and international organisations have a certain amount of apprehension when working with a small company based out of Cornwall. But we’re dispelling the myth that you need to be a 50+ team from London to create great products and services that challenge the technology giants like Facebook, Google, and IBM. I look forward to working with our colleagues at Cornwall Trade and Investment & the Department of International Trade to progress our exporting endeavors and challenge the status quo.”
