It has been a busy few weeks since London Tech Week and The AI Summit London officially wrapped up. It was an incredible trip, and our CEO, Christopher Weavill, came home to Cornwall with some big takeaways on where the industry is heading next.
While the high-octane energy across the main expo floor at Olympia London was undeniable, the true highlights of the trip came from the meaningful connections made off the main stage, a memorable visit to Parliament, and a prestigious evening celebrating the UK's top AI talent.

The absolute standout highlight of the week took place just down the road from the main expo at the Palace of Westminster. We would like to extend our massive thanks to Perran Moon MP and Charles Kergaravat for generously hosting and welcoming us.
We’re lucky in Cornwall to have representatives who are truly invested in supporting our region. Seeing Cornwall’s growing tech ecosystem recognised at the national level is a reminder that meaningful innovation isn’t just happening in the big cities, it’s thriving here in the South West.
Taking a step back from the busy expo floor gave us space for more meaningful conversations with both familiar faces and new connections. Away from the noise, we were able to dig into what really matters: the need for strong sovereign AI infrastructure, such as the impressive Isambard-AI facility at the University of Bristol, and the importance of focusing on building real, practical applications that can make a difference for businesses and communities alike.

These conversations reminded us that progress comes from collaboration and a shared commitment to tackling real-world challenges, not just chasing the latest trends.
London Tech Week and The AI Summit brought a wave of new ideas and bold claims, but at Hertzian, we’re most interested in what’s real. It’s easy to get swept up in the hype, but our focus is on building technology that delivers genuine value, where we own the IP and control our future. We believe the strongest foundations are the ones you build yourself, and that’s what sets our work apart. Our commitment is to practical solutions, lasting partnerships, and empowering our customers to thrive without the risk of dependency.
The excitement did not stop at Tech Week. We were incredibly proud to see Chris named a finalist for AI Champion of the Year at The National AI Awards, a category recognising individuals who demonstrate exceptional thought leadership, advocacy, and influence in the AI community.

We want to extend our massive congratulations to the category winner, Rob McCargow (Technology Impact Leader at PwC UK).
It was an absolute privilege for Chris to be counted alongside such an esteemed group of final nominees driving responsible AI adoption across the UK:
Being shortlisted alongside leaders who are pushing for a more responsible, scalable, and practical future is a testament to the direction we are striving for every day.
We are back home in Cornwall, feeling inspired, grounded, and ready for what is next. The tech landscape is moving fast, but by focusing on robust infrastructure, regional growth, and true IP value, we can ensure the UK's AI future is built on solid foundations.
